A little because of the two early results. Never expected Valon and Switzerland to win over the Czech's..

Sweden vs. Russia 0-0 after one period.

It's been a pretty good game so far, although I'm looking for goals in the second period

I'm partial for Sweden, just b/c my last name ends in -quist, and I feel like half the hockey team are my long lost cousins.

Hehe

Are you originally from Scandinavia/Sweden? Alot of swedes emigrated to America back in the 1800th-century and forward.

It sucks that we're down with 3 goals when the 3rd period is about too start..

Sweden has to start keeping their own play in the russians defensive half. They have to play alot more agressive and stop losing the puck all the time. The russians is too fast for that kind of play and Henrik can't save everything..

yah its def. my long lost heritage, although the Berquist clan that I belong to here is now more American than apple pie.

and I agree about the game, Sweden has to start consistently moving into Russia's side in situations other than fast breaks.

Hehe. Sounds pretty cool

Sweden couldn't do anything to Russia today because the russians played really good. I've got to say that we had a pretty bad day and problems in the defence. It sucks to lose 5-0 against Russia, really..

Mats Sundin, Henrik Lundquist and Samuel Pĺhlsson was the only players who can get a decent grade from this match and I'm truly dissapointed with the defensive play. The Russians got a lot of free chances and they could've won with even more. There's something more that irritates me, the bad Powerplay, We've scored something like 2 times on 2 games, Bad, Indeed.

A big match by Russia, Nabokov, Malkin, Kovalev, Datsyuk do I have to continue with the list, They were all fucking great today and they crushed us on the counter attacks they got.

Peter Forsberg is going to train tomorrow and check if he can play in the tournament, alot of us in Sweden is hoping that he can play and ofcourse that he's fit. If he's not fit, then New York Rangers Michael Nylander will get the chance to play for Sweden, not a bad replacement, But Peter is Peter..

Slovakia beats Latvia, 6-3
so perhaps their win over Russia wasn't a fluke
It seems to me that they could be the surprise team playing for a medal.

If US beats Kazakhstan, then they'll move into 2nd place behind Slovakia
If they don't, they'll be in trouble

Losing to Kazakhstan can't be accepted.
