I suggest actually learning to mix before you even start to think about pointless things like DJ names.

This is my personal bias you don't have to swear by it but what I consider best record stores for dj vinyl are
The most sponsored one:
Type anything for jeff mills too bullshit hed kandi this shop will pop up.
What I guess you know that already...
Pros:
- if you sign up for their mailing list they give you
artist alerts and label alerts
So when for example ''josh wink'' puts out a track
you will know right away by email if you set to receive alerts for ''josh wink''.
-free ship over 50$
-samples for their entire catalogue.
Cons :
-Records stay in stock for very little as this is the prefered record shop of the general public.
low bitrate samples
-will fill your email box in seconds (I guess thats a good thing)
For all your jungle needs.
Great shop ,great service, great dnb tunes!Bigup!
Plastic fantastic :
-pros :
-upfront promos way before anyware else.
-Hot breaks good tech house
cons
-stupid prices.
Too much ''progressive'' that doesn't sound ''progressive''.
Especially the ones they rant about (hot limited sasha favorite!!!!) will put you too sleep faster than a government class in 7:30 in the morning.
Deejay.de
http://ra.deejay.de/frames/frame_de.asp?bei=ra&id=STARTSEITE&ab=Heute
pros:
-The best record store in the world in my book.
Amazing selection good prices quality service!
If international shipping bills where no issue for me this would be my exclusive record shop .
-The people who own it are German!!
-They speak in German!!
-They are from germany!!
Cons
So many good records that you wont know what to get

i remember people telling me that when i first started...
one thing no one ever told me was that you better one hell of programmer to make up for the lack of technical skill, because the equipment is not good enough to allow you to grow into a complete and well rounded dj.
here are a couple of pics of the crud i started with. hopefully i will never go back:

Bollocks as the say in England...
I would really like if he got his equip practiced for hours learned how to ride the pitch and make those mixes tick, and got further than all you over opinionated people
that think everybody has a fortune to spend on whatever gear you are being marketed upon...
some twats here....

more than anything, i would like it for him to NOT scrape the bottom of the barrel like i did. you don't need top of the line equipment to start. but don't start w/utter garbage like i did.
if he got a crap mixer like i did, how is supposed to learn how to properly match his levels? w/eq on each channel he can make more mixes possible because he will be able to cut the bass on a track to avoid clashing... even w/crappy direct drives, you can spend A LOT more time working the fader properly for smooth mixing, and actually enjoy being a dj instead of constantly riding the pitch on a crap belt drive that will never really be steady x2.
i don't have a "fortune" to spend, it took me the better part of an entire year to upgrade my set up. it was worth the wait for me.

I'd say if it takes you years to save up for "technics rah rah rah" whats the point get stuck in.
I recon some people are compensating for lack of skill by thinking your equipement makes you a better dj than someone who has worse decks.
equipment doesn't always equal good beatmatching
good beatmatching doesn't always equal good mixing
good mixing even doesn't always equal a good dj

But if you have the time and money then why not get the better equipment? The equipment that you know is more reliable, sounds better coming out of the speakers, and will have a greater chance of being in a club or somewhere else if you decide to play out in a club/lounge/party. To me, it just makes sense, plain and simple. But, if you don't have the time, money, or care to get those things then yeah, whatever makes you happy!
But to sit there and say that a Numark turntable is just as good as a Technic one, well...

BUT HE DOESN'T HAVE THE MONEY FOOL! You make out like having a set of technics somehow makes you a DJ it I can assure you does not. In fact I'd recomend to anyone starting out to not get technics and a huge mixer at the start if they haven't tried it thats just plain stupid!
If you were gonna start playing the guitar would you before you know how to play buy a:
a) £1000 one?
b) £400 one?
Then when you consider every peney you spend on your fancy decks is less records to play on them whats the point?

Firstly when did I say anything near to that?
Secondly it is a matter of opinion.
I'm gonna start flaming here (I never do that but this is so stupid).

Way to be immature and start name calling. And yeah, your logic makes no sense. If you have the money then yes you get the better equipment. The equipment that you would eventually be investing in anyway so that way you aren't waisting money. As far as the second quote, you might as well save the rest of your typing and just come out and say that. Way to turn this conversation into a flame fest.
