Tentation Extended Hours for AVB??
Rumor has it that Ten has applied for a special permit to extend their hours until 4 am for Armin's June 29th show. I hear they are trying to do this because they expect a large crowd crowd and want to get "to the next level" as an internationally recognized venue (ok, maybe a bit ahead of themself but I applaud their ambition, bring it on baby!) I don't think they have confirmation or permission yet, and knowing how anal the Newport Beach Police Dep't is, I doubt this will happen, but who knows. Maybe they have some pull with the city?!?
I doubt Armin will spin until 4, but if the venue has a green light from Newport Beach PD, then I think Armin will go till at least 3 and possibly 3:30 am.
Here's what I do know: There is a special stage being built, exactly like the Deep Dish event on 4/13. Although the promoters put a great deal of money into additional Sound and Video for Deep Dish, I understand the sound and visuals for AVB will be even more enhanced. The second room (restaurant) will have major sound and visual enhancements, significantly beyond what they did for Deep Dish.
Dress Code: Definately dress to impress, but the "no sneaker" rule applies to "Nike" type apparel, and NOT to Diesel, etc... In other words, don't wear cross trainers, but your Puma and Diesel dance shoes are FINE!
The increase in bottle minimum's for that night, I'm assuming, are because the venue only has 5 cabanas, and with 1 going to the promoters, 1 going to AVB's entourage, leaves only 3. The laws of scarcity apply in any business. There are very limited tables in the club because the venue is trying to increase the amount of space available to dance. A group of 15 (cabana capacity) will pay $125 per person for FIVE bottles. That's not bad, especially if you roll up in a Ferrari. LOL. Frikin OC!!
Sorry, but I had been reading this thread for a while, and I'm pretty familiar with the people behind this show (It is a collaboration with GIANT), and I wanted to add some clarity to the air.
I'm sure they could charge $80 per person and still sell out, because these OC kids don't care, especially when they're in their crowd and want to impress. Again, being a VERY small venue, the Law of Scarcity will rule, but if they charge too much, Boris MD and possibly even Armin will interject and won't let it happen. From what I hear, Boris MD is a MAJOR stickler when it comes to ticket prices, possibly even refusing to perform if he feels the fans are getting ripped off.
I'm just ECSTATIC that a promoter like Giant is working with Orange Vibe and bringing these DJ's to my backyard.
Roundtrip Gas for driving from Irvine to Giant in LA: $40
A room at The Standard downtown to prevent a DUI: $295
Tickets to get into Giant: $40
Parking across the street: $40
Total: $415
(Maybe a late night munch at Astro Burger cuz of the long drive home: $30)
Bloating the next day from a plate of onion rings: 2 hours on the treadmill
June 29th:
Roundtrip Gas to Tentation: $6
Tickets: $40
Parking: $5 tip to valet
5 minute drive back home and sleeping in my own bed: Priceless
