I feel the same as many of you regarding PvD peaking with Out There And Back, however I have to say that Reflections contained some great (albeit different) songs too like Crush, Time Of Our Lives and Nothing But You.
I also quite like Complicated, that melancholic hook is doing it for me.

He did go commercial very aggressively with Reflections (and got a Grammy nomination) but ya cant fault the man for trying to earn some cash. As long as he provides Club mixes/dubs...

Be happy that he is still around! So many artists die

I'm sure PvD isn't very low on cash...he's been highly paid for gigs for years now, it's not like he HAS to make a commercial album to put food on the table.

This pisses me off because there have been way too many producers in the past couple of years go in the commercial direction (Chicane, BT, Tiesto, PvD, Ferry Corsten). All used to make amazing productions that had a lot of meaning to them, everything they make now is just flat and boring (BT's new album could be a possible exception). Sadly now that they've started making music in this direction they'll never go back to their old style. The best you can expect nowadays is from up and coming, new artists.

Dont be so harsh. If there is one good song on the new album, thats alot better than I can say for any other trance album released since Reflections. (ouch now im being harsh)

I'm tending to hope that he still has some magic in him left and I'm willing to give him the benefit of doubt.

And let me rephrase that money statement. Its not only about money, its about success. Everybody wants to be loved and wanting to be loved by many (aka mainstream) is nothing bad per-se. There are people that manage the stretch and while its been a stretch so far, at least he knows the difference between a Radio Edit and the club mix. And frankly thats all I care about-- why not let him maximize his audience exposure. Let him be happy too if he keeps providing things that make us happy.
