i'm still kind of upset about it. i guess not the fact that they split....although that DOES hurt; but i'm more upset about my dad just being an ass about this whole thing...not really wanting to pay for support; not paying bills. i mean, for fucks sake, my mom can't work because she's in chronic pain.

through the divorce they had to do a "discovery" of which my mom found out a LOT about my dad and his wheelings and deelings that he keeps lying about. just made me lose a lot of respect for him i guess.

and now he's getting married to this chick; i dunno. just kinda f'd up i guess.

my brother is getting remarried this october; after a two year marriage failed. his wife left him for some other dude; and now he's gone on the rebound and found some other chick and they've "rekindled" their old love from like 15 years ago, and i'm just like, "WTF is wrong w/ my family?" my bro's got a 9 year old kid; and she's all screwed up because of this, plus their marriage wasn't really anything fantastic, either. i'm wondering what she's going to be like as a teenager

My parents splitting was the best thing that could've happened, besides them winning the lotto first.

Now birthday presents don't come from mum & dad, they come from mum and dad. I get on better with my dad talking to him on the phone every couple of weeks and seeing him every few months. It's a win-win situation

My parents got a divorce uh like 7 years ago and it really was for the best. The atmosphere at home was baaaad, felt like you were walking on egg shells. Afterwards I got along better with my dad, he got kinder and friendlier. Mom got a lot happier too. Both have new companjons by now.

How it has affected me? Well I knew for a very long time it was gonna happen. I got sad at first and I no longer believe that people can stay together for a lifetime (I was the only kid among my friends with non-divorced parents).

My parents separated about a year and a half ago cause of my dads drinking problem. He moved back to Poland and it was when he got there that he realized what he had done. They had always been madly in love (kissing and hugging and him buying her flowers etc) but his drinking was the issue. SO - he got sober. Been sober for a year now. They started going on "dates" like 8 months ago or so, and he just moved back in this month and neither one of them could be happier
