Ferry corsten's productions are much better than his music selections. His selections are way too hardhousy/cheezy....In fact, his productions are nothing to brag about. His only works i like was his remix of barbers strings... and of course out of the blue and solstice are decent too, but that is about it... And for us uplifting/melodic lovers... we usually dont like pvd because he is way too progressive/mellow/monotone all the way through. NO buildups... etc...... Well, at least that is how i feel about him, but to each is own. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Needless to say, it doesnt get better than hi nrg/melodic euro trance.......

Have u heard Ferry Corsten's Soul on Soul, CHEESE! Corsten isn't God.

I agree Tell me why & We are Alive are cheese. I like tranza's remix of mercury & solace better than quiiver's. Deep Dish's Gladiator remix of Innocente is better than Tiesto's.

Easy, easy! Wasn't meant as a dis or anything.

I don't think Corsten is god either.
I do believe though that the story of creation should be more like:

In the beginning god created the earth and all the creatures on it. Then he created the man and the woman to be the ones filling the dancefloors and harvesting the fields.

Finally he created Vincent De Moor in his own image and placed him in Europe to fill the halls with wonderfull sounds, sounds which was to be called TRANCE!!

heheh, vdm is awesome. and i agree with you guys too. corsten's productions are much better than his djing. after listening to trance energy 2000 it was quite mellow in my opinion. no real builds and drops. just one monotone.

hehe. but of course, that's my opinion...

Ferry is amazing producer..i think hes the one behind the Gouyella...tunes..more then Tiesto is...but anyway ...Ferry not haveing good sets ...i would strongly disagree i thought the TE set of last year was good!!....but when i heard his Rosemontag 2001 set...it was just FANTASIC...in every way ...so uplifting...and just one of the best live sets i ever heard ....in my mind!!!.....

Well, apparantly you havent heard some of his newer cds out in the market that are absolutely disgusting. Some of the trance nation ones in fact. Come on, hes got a lot of commercial garbage out and a lot of it is cheezy hard house... He even has the tune that i hate more than any other tune ... the kernkraft tune...and the darude, and storms- time to burn which i also hate. Seeing that he put these three tunes out onto a cd... along with the house garbage just goes to show you where he stands in the trance field... Now, you are almost guaranteed good trance when you buy a cd from black hole or bonzai records.... But if ferry is mixing... watch out... Like i said, his productions are much better than his music selections.. and they arent to brag about either.

I disagree. I like Corsten quite a bit and think he's one hell of a DJ. I will agree that his Trance Nation series is filled with popular trance tunes, but I think that's the point of them. I pop them in every now and then just because they are fun to listen to. His less popular albums (Solar, Oslo, Innercity, Tsunami) are all good in my opinion. The only complaint I have is that he opens with Rank 1 - Airwave on Innercity, which is much better placed at the end .

Ferry Corsten is definitely a trance god.he has been around for a long time and produced so many good tunes.there may have been some bad productions from him but i think overall he is the only guy who has kept his singles simple and based on good tunes rather than special fx.

plus...i am from South India and the song "Indian Summer" in his solo album features "Carnatic Music" which is the music of the state i live...Tamil Nadu.the singer is also a tamilian...my native language.Ever since i heard that song..my respect for him has doubled.
