By 60's music, I'm taking it to mean Motown, etc. If that's the case, I'd strongly advise not to give her any trance, because she just won't like it. There are a couple of things she might like though, and that aren't too much of a stretch. I wouldn't advise trying to change her musical tastes; instead, try expanding them by building on what she already likes. She likes Motown soul? Give her something from the Naked Music label. Bare Essentials Vol. 3 was one of my first EDM albums a couple years back, and the obvious jazz/soul influence is something that allows non-EDM fans a chance to connect to it as well. Kaskade's It's You, It's Me album is fantastic. Blue Six's album is also draws heavily upon an older jazz sound. Any Sounds of Om compilation is usually pretty good too.
Otherwise, you could delve into the whole trip-hop/jazz realm with something by Air or Zero 7, which I imagine she would probably like quite a bit. If she likes more poppy stuff, something like Sia Furler, Telepopmusik, or Imogen Heap/Frou Frou might hit the spot. Like someone else suggested, Madonna's new album isn't actually that bad. If she likes folk music likes James Taylor and stuff, try starting her off with Emiliana Torrini's new album. It's not very electronic, but her previous stuff is, so it could provide a pretty easy bridge to explore a little bit more stuff like Hooverphonic, Portishead, Everything But The Girl, Sneaker Pimps, etc. A long progression maybe, but I find that Trip-Hop balances House very nicely.
But if you insist on trance, keep the bpm's under control and stick with some pop song remixes. Don't just give her a set of all foreign songs. Give her something recognizable as a bridge to the more obscure tracks in a set. Something like No Doubt - It's My Life (Jacques Lu Cont Remix), The Killers - Mr. Brightside (Thin White Duke Remix), Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone (Jason Nevits Mix), etc. The more comfortable she is with the music, the more she will like it, so try and find something that builds off her current tastes. I wouldn't recommend ASOT... though Above and Beyond could work. Perhaps their end of the year Top 20 of 2005 mix (From This Thread) There was a lot of pretty decent stuff in that mix, and most tracks included a decent melody or vocal to latch onto as well.
Also, someone recommended that Danny Howells EM from 2002. Pure gold, and includes a couple oldies such as Kool and the Gang and Prince, as well as some modern trip-hop and house-related tunes.
Good luck, and happy hunting!
