I thought it doesn't matter whether pass was intended or not? If someone shoots, hits the post and rebound goes to teammate who is in offside position, that is still offside, no?

Hope Lee Chun Soo gets another shot at European football. His stint in La Liga sucked, but his game is more suited for England anyways.

The post is considered neutral, so it's still an original pass from the attacker, but if it comes off an opponent player it's a different matter. A portuguese referee who analised that play yesterday on TV said that it was a correct decision since he doesn't interpret it as a "deflection", but as a "pass" from a korean.

It's all a bit confusing since the rules for offside have changed a bit over the last few years.

I think that's from 2002 world cup.
cuz it was 4am in Korea when the match was being played.

too bad the original pass came only afterwards from the player below Frei and Barnetta, and for it to be deflected in a completely opposite direction.
