ATB sucked my friend...and he was never good, just popular since his music is aired by every station because even NON trance lovers can relate to it since its EURO not even trance...WEAK SET! WEAK DJ! WEAK RUDE STONNED ASIAN CROWD 4 the main room @ the Guv!
First time seeing both and I was impressed by both. I've seen Armin and Tiesto and I can say this ATB got me moving more the either of em (dunno if it was the overall vibe of the guv). Maybe you are right that it was due to the selection of popular tracks...but hey what ever works to get the crowd going right ? And please you don't become the #9 DJ in the world by not being good. People please stop this shit...just like all the TIESTO bashers...deal with it these guys are good if they sucked so much no one would listen to them and come see them. And to become popular you gotta have something good to offer at first. Anywho I think if ATB had a longer set it would of been better put together, for all you analysts, although I had no problems with it and so did 98% of the other people here I think it was awesome. Yeah the Asian crowd was big and high but I wouldn't say they were rude since they all just stand and hug each other...who is rude are those idiots walking through the middle of the dance floor like they own the place not even saying sorry when they bump into you (try walking around the sides next time who ever you are)

wow what a great night
got in at about 2, probably a couple mins into ATB's set. As expected guv was packed and hot to the max. ALso since we got in after 2 we JUST missed last call, and oh i really wanted that BEEEEEEEEEEEER. We moved to the front, it was less packed there, stayed there all night.
great time!!
TRANCE IS ALIVE AND WELL, only when djs play it PROPER. Last night was a prime example soooo many sick tunes, ATB didnt disappoint and MO was a great finish.
Makarech, Love Theme Dusk and more sick songs =) im glad i came

As for the asian crowd.... that's never gonna change. My all time favourite tho is still the Asian chicks sleeping/leaning against each other, sitting in front of a pulsating speaker. Haha priceless. I wish I still had that pic.

Ok, since this is your first time at the Guv, you clearly have not yet had your share of bad experiences with the asian crowd. I myself had plenty last night and nights before so im not even going to go there...not to mention the fact that you can not have a good crowd when the crowd is made up of STONNED ASIANS who just stand there like ZOMBIES with no reaction to the music! Now...you are saying that whoever is popular is good? i fully disagree with that. Being popular doesnt not automaticaly qualify as GOOD! (look at Anna Kournikova for example...) Mark Oliver, canadian DJ, resident at the Guv..ranked 200+ something OWNED ATB. His set was energetic and diverse! Thumbs up 4 MO! so that's another proof that those ranking dont mean anything! Anyways, glad you had a good time and enjoyed the music. I myself think ATB was more then just weak with a very borring set with all songs following the same line.

This always happens in review threads. It never fails. I just laugh at it now and barely posts reviews for this reason only. Everyone always has something to say about another's review.

i was sober the whole night and i've been in the trance scene for many years now and have seen most of the big names numerous times. since when is playing all the hits a bad thing? i hate how everyone always has to be all cool and 'underground' its just as pathetic as ppl wanting to be 'gangsta' in the hip hop scene. I love a good progressive house set like the next person, but its such a rarity to get a set like this and i cherrished every minute of it!
