Exactly. I Hope the rally goes beyond just supporting the Docks and adresses the bigger issue of Islanders wanting to run Toronto down there and our society in general giving in to a couple of whiners.

Seriously though, you can count me in for support. Maybe in a few months or so we can have an outdoor event so that we can dance to show more support? There's no violence involved

Dancing in the streets!~

Oh, but I think it does... perhaps the Docks and its supporters wish to frame this as the beginning of a city-wide crackdown on dance music venues, but what evidence is there for such a theory? Time and time again, the problems lie with one particular venue on the waterfront, and nothing more, as far as I've read.

again ill mention the king-spadina residential association. I suggest looking into that for your answers.

BYW i do not have any affiliation with the docks whatsoever

No, i do get it. I am just saying why make the whole thing more complicated than it has to be? The rave protocal is old news, and will likely never be resurrected. The issue at hand should be dealt with first before anything else at this point. And where did i mention anything about all ages?

The King-Spadina people have a point as well - the club distinct is ugly as sin at night... now if I learned anything from playing Sim City as a kid, this is a zoning issue. Where is the city going to put nightclubs anyhow? Poor urban planning leads to the thick concentration of clubs on Richmond street leading to a higher crime rate and other unsightly business.

Whatever the deeper issues may be, this wouldn't be a problem if so many clubbers weren't fucking idiots. I still don't see this as a crackdown on dancing so much as it is a crackdown on obnoxious (and sometimes even violent) behavior.

I know that the lease for the land on the Island ends in 2092, but when did it start?
