im with you lilith. the anti american sentiment that has engulfed the world is thoroughly deserved, but lets not lose sight of the fact that there are far worse regimes out there.

I can't believe you actually gave them kudos for their "active military role" and scope thereof

sorry? how about kuwait, protection of taiwan, intervention in the balkans, their attempts in parts of africa like somalia. was removing taliban a bad thing? it was completely justified from where im sitting.

its always funny seeing people list vietnam on the long list of americas crimes, yet you dont see them mention the korean war. how much better off are the south koreans? how much better would the north be had we actually won that war?

Your examples actually back me up!! Either in their interest, or in a worth state than it was. The taliban are alive and well and coming back fast. You have been too busy trying to find jokes that will offend MissyM and not enough on current affairs

Same message to you, less rhetoric, more fun on weekends, and see in the political forum Monday

dont forget america has its own problems and its own poor to worry about. nothing states that any country owes any other some kind of support. be thankful that countries like the US exist because if other regimes were "in power" the 3rd world would receive far less.

Yes that is true, shame about all the poor people living in America.

Ofcourse it doesnt state anywhere that any country owes any other some kind of support.

HOWEVER how the fark can others, especially powerful nations & the wealthy & anyone for that matter let injustice such as this occur in the world when SOMETHING can be done about it!

Does this look normal to you?
I dont know about any of you, but these images have mentally scarred me & truly break my heart.

While people are still starving to death & are malnourished, etc, yeah I know there are still many poor people in the US, however too many of them & people around the world are ordering supersize Macca's meals, etc.......

Yeah I know we all indulge here & there on whatever it may be......... just makes me think how lucky I really am & how grateful I am, I mean I even have what you might call a 'luxury' of having the net, while others are starving in the world & dont even know what the net is.

Its fucked up!

Didi spot on

Oh PKC the U.S took their damn well time to intervene in the Balkans, too many mass graves later.

Anyways i didnt want this to turn into a anti US flaming...

quote:
Should there be a hypothetical violent conflict to the northern borders of Australia which crosses the international boundaries, who do you think will bother to do anything about it?
China, Russia or the US.
It's pretty simple.
Pick one and justify it

Ofcourse the US would intervene, Howard is up Bush' ass, e.g: Howard wont ratify the Kyoto Protocol because the U.S dont want to ratify it!

ohhhyeahhhhhhhhhhhhh Michael Jackson

oh, so the US is to blame for the taliban's resurgance? how do you figure that? how was zaire or rwanda or somalia in the US' interest? indeed, how were the balkans? can you please give me examples of other regimes putting ANY effort into similar situations as often as the US has?

if youre gonna argue about this sort of thing then at least have a small idea of what youre talking about. the number one reason it took so long to effect military pressure in the balkans was due to russia's posturing and their veto in the security council. not to mention the diplomatic wrangling that attacking a soverign state requires. what would you prefer- the US to lead an attack without the world's approval like they did in iraq?

but the fact remains, late or imperfect as the US-led effort was (in the balkans or elsewhere), NOBODY else was doing anything. so before all you people jump on the anti-US bandwagon, how bout you think about the rest of the world's nations and how they measure up in similar contexts.

as for the photos, of course theyre awful. but you have to ask yourself, is this the fault of the US and its allies, or the over-population of africa and their incessant civil wars? blame their governments first.

Dont talk about it, go there and see it for yourself, its not hard and theyre always looking for people with either administration or medical skills to help.
You don't have to come back and tell me how it smells either, that'll stay in the back of your brain forever and give you a few more reasons.

tell you about the SMELL? now why would i EVER even think about doing such a thing, the fact that you can even mention that clearly proves that you suffer from F.I.T.H syndrome.
