That's where it's not cheesy, Bas! It is a way of life. There are a few guys at my work that absolutely despised EDM before I explained why it's such a big part of my life. They took the time to listen to what I had to say about it and even decided to listen to a few sets I had on my iPod at the time. I explained to them why it's irritating to hear everyone refer to all EDM as 'techno'. I played them examples of solid progressive trance and house, funky house, electro house and trance. I explained how the BPM of a track or continous set makes a huge difference and progressive house spun at 128 is most definately not 'techno'. That group of my friends at work now understand how it can get annoying to hear people call EDM 'techno' over and over again. I even got a few of them to come out to a few house gigs to experience the scene, the DJ's and the true definition of the music. A few of them still enjoy the music and a few don't but my mission was accomplished by showing them what the music means and by clearing up what techno is and what it isn't.
