I was a little worried that I had peaked too early in anticipation or even built this one up a little too much for it to be as good a night as I was hoping it would/should be - lucky that was not the case at all.
When hardware really comes out to play, I don't think you can conjure up a better vibe. While I guess you could say that it was a little disspointing in one way that attendance was not as what it should have been, in the end it was their loss
Garnier was awesome really. I'd read a lot of negative comments and opinions over the last few weeks about the direction that Laurent had taken as a DJ in recent times, but after catching him last night i thought he managed to seguay between genres perfectly. While it obviously really comes down to personal taste, i thought the Drum & Bass he played was at least funky, and he really didn't digress for too long anyway (at least it seemed that way to me). Personally i thought his 'indie' section towards the 4th hour almost went too long, but coming out of it with 'Knights Of The Jaguar' and following that up with 'Strings Of Life' was certainly one way to refocus things
I caught up with so many people i'd not seen in quite a while. Thanks heaps to Hardware for giving me the opportunity to kick off proceedings for the night, it was truly appreciated.
