What a night.... beds always feel best after a long night of partying...
There is alot I want to say, but first and formost, thanks to everyone who came out. I was pleased with the LOVE all of you showed me and Artimus his first run out as a mainroom Dj @ 1015. Everyone looks to have arrived early. Good to see that you all made it out.
Artimus was a bit nervous, but after a couple of mixes into it he started to become more comfortable with being up there. Being a club Dj is definitely different than being a rave, or bedroom Dj. I explained to him that there is alot of things that are different. Expecially the sound, people talking to you, people snapping pictures.. etc.. but he ate it up. This isnt his first gig out, just his first time in the mainroom at 1015.
Afterall, this night was really his, so he had most of the control of mix we created together. I let him decide on the tracks to play. I did lend a hand in arrangement. But we brought an arsenal of tracks to play to lend a hand in setting the mood for the night...
I'm extermely happy that 1015 honored us both by allowing us to team up to open for such a superstar Dj like M.I.K.E. I learned alot this time around, expecially DaveT's comment about the BPM's. Im working on timing as well as my progression. Hearing M.I.K.E's set was truely inspirational. I will possibly be adding another mix ill create later today. I hope our new Duo group The Tranceformers will be returning soon.
This time around I wanted to experiment with my program and push its limits. Yes, both me and Artimus were using the same program. There were some rough spots here and there. We were Syncing pretty much throughout the night.
Most of the guestlist gathered were some of his close friends, & family. Artimu's mother was there also in the middle VIP booth, ad I met Artimus's brother Billy who came out early in support. Everyone else I believed that came out for us signed up on the standard guestlist I think. You guys gotta remember when you accept my invitation to email me on myspace or my personal.
Everyone who showed up early got to hear some stuff I been messing around with. Im beginning to like Matt Rowen & Jaytech type tunes, and Marcus Shultz has always been a favorite of mine too. I'm sticking with a Dj should be universal, so im trying my hand at new things. Personally, I'm beginning to tap into other genres, and beginning to have a thing for progggy electro type stuff.
We only handed out about 150 300 CDs we had on hand. So, if you see either me or Arty next time, do stop and ask for one, I wanna make sure those who didnt get one and want one, will.
Yes, good to see many TA's in the house. Everyone I ran into said great job on the mix, and loved your set..
You guys are what make me wanna do more. Thanks TA's...
BTW, the webarchive for past party photos and video im still wotking on, Ill explain this later.. for now ima conk out and get some sleep!
