Whatever. Debating this is pointless. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs and none of us will live long enough to know who was right and who was wrong.

I wasn't implying just because he said so, it is that. My point is that there is just as much information dispusting what Al Gore's "Incovinient Truth"(which I have seen), and other researchs say. I am all for reducing emissions and I do believe we have to shape up the way we are producing so much garbage etc... but it's all being over played as fact when really it is still theory at best.

Anyways, I agree enough is enough. We all can think what we want, I don't see many people changing their mind on the stance they have.

Just goes to show you, if you repeat something loudly enough and often enough, people will believe it, and even make up their own facts and statistics to support it.

I think it's being overly generous to even call it a theory. Speculation and junk science might be better choices.

The Gulfstream Liberals wish to thank you all for your very important contribution to this important debate.

Great input.

ps. I disagree with the Liberals, Kyoto, and all that BS.

True. But its based on studies, support. What he's doing is no different than Al Gore. He's read the research, formed an opinion, and it relaying it to the world, same as he. They are both trying to convey their respective points and agendas to us in a way that is easier to assimilate and understand, and/or in a way that will generate more public attention than through just telling ppl to read the actual studies themselves, which wont appeal to laymen as well, or as easily (much harder to read/understand.)

The only difference... they are attempting to prove different viewpoints.

Just bc AL Gore says something doesnt mean it true either. But, as with Crichton, Gore as support and studies and reports backing his opinion which he presents in that report and film An Inconvenient Truth, that the world is so taken with presently.

Touche But I believed it before Al Gore decided to cash in on the trend and make his little movie.

And yea, we all have a choice on who we want to listen to. I admit that Crichton's side of it is much more thought out than ANYTHING else I've read that disputes the theory of Global Warming. Before it's all "omg its not proven fact therefore its false!!".

Everyday I see the world
Seems to me it's the same old thing
Same old beat with the same old song
It's time to move to another place
Take me up to the sky
I need a new beat, take me up off from my feet
Take me high to the sky
Where the stars and the moon still shine

Flying to the moon
Getting higher
I can see the stars now

Gotta get you soon
I'm on fire
I've got to show you how now
Flying to the moon
You're beneath me
Maybe you can reach me
Come beyond the sky
You can join me
We can live and fly so high

Everyone in life needs a change
Need something they can't explain
Never mind the reason why
Free your soul up to the sky
Take me high, make me fly
Forget all the troubles that I've seen
Take me up, you know why
To this whole new world that's me

Everyday I see the world
Seems to me it's the same old thing
Everyone in life needs a change
Need something they can't explain

Ditto. In 2003/2004 I became very interested in this topic and started to look into it.

Read 4 or 5 papers on the matters while at UW. God bless the DC Library and procrastination of what I *should* have been working on

Anyways, I was of this opinion years before Crichton expressed his viewpoints. I am really elated to see someone I highly respect share the same opinion though.

lol, it's mind boggling...I don't understand how people think they can debate the topic, when there is massive amounts of empirical evidence that's pretty much one sided.

No, there's almost zero empirical evidence, save for about 40 years' worth of temperature measurements from major metropolitan areas. Most scientists can't even agree on how an average temperature is supposed to be measured, and the only empirical evidence from pre-1960s which isn't extrapolated, the CET, clearly shows massive variations, both cyclical and random, and also shows a temperature trend that has been increasing since the 17th century, long before we had any significant source of CO2 emissions.

What's truly mind-boggling is how some otherwise intelligent people are able to claim that there are massive amounts of empirical evidence when they haven't seen any. Unless you count the consensus of several "climate scientists" (who often only have BAs, and whose very careers depend on continuation of the scare) as evidence.

The evidence is a bunch of people saying that there's evidence. And their evidence is more people saying that there's evidence. It's like a gigantic pyramid scheme, or maybe some sort of loop, without any actual physical evidence involved.

I'd be more concerned about bovine emissions than cars. And it's quite possible that my farts over the past 2-3 weeks have increased the local temperature by a few degrees - but not the global temperature.

This is all linked to the MAYAN PROPHECIES, I know it!!!

This moment on Earth, with all of its heightened energies, has never existed before. The opportunities and challenges of today's world are the climax of all that has preceded us. Never before has the population of this planet increased by 216,000 people a day! Never before has the Earth's biosphere been in such a precarious state. That which seems like normal lifestyle decisions and behaviors are but precedents set by our modern standards - not necessarily reflecting the most balanced, healthy, or sane way to operate. It is for us to decipher how to live our lives with integrity; to determine what truths empower us to model our lives according to our greatest harmonious potential.
