1. The old school ones. They were into their Front Line Assembly stuff as well as the darker industrial ambient overtones of the early Delerium albums. However, many started to get turned off of Delerium when the duo began incorporating more 'ethno-pop' elements into their songs and, while Karma did retain some of those old dark overtones, the newer elements (of which Silence contained a fair deal of) were clearly beginning to overtake. Most gave up on them after Karma.

2. The new school ones. These folks discovered Delerium when the 'ethno-pop' style of songs began getting compilation duty and remixed by epic trance DJs. This turned out to be a much more profitable crowd (a large portion of which are New Agey middle-class moms), so Delerium began catering to them heavily, and they've gone that route ever since. Most of them got into Delerium after Karma. Oh, and think Silence is one of their best tracks.

(firmly entrenched in Group 1)

yea im aware of that but im talking about remixed tracks sorry. as an original production i dont think silence comes close to being their best track. and my point was that even if they are the latter type of fan they can still have heard alot of delerium tracks which is why mikey mike's comment was stupid

haha maybe but sarah mclachlans (sp?) voice in silence makes up for any cheesiness imo, i guess its obviously just a matter of taste

but compared to alot of the vocal crap there is in the genre, this is hardly cheesy at all. i just think you've got a bit of a phobia, not all vocals have to have masterful lyrics...

first time i heard it live was in 2002 at Exit, NYC on my 20th birthday...most memorable set from Tiesto for me. Silence was his closing song at 6am and I walked out as it was fading out with the biggest smile ever.

have heard it multiple times since, but never was able to top that.
