Listening now. I glanced at Carpe Noctum and Elements of Life and they both are blatant rip offs of Traffic and Adagio for Strings (respectively). I expect a hearty laugh besides those two, and I'm sure he shan't disappoint.

Don't mind Ten Seconds Before Sunrise though, so far.

I'm being asked to put down my views, probably because I am usually the one supporting or defending the guy around here. So...

What can i say really. I've had faith in this album for a while. The attitude and 'voices' coming out of the Black Hole made me really truly believe we would be into In My Memory territory, or at least, somewhere OTHER than Just Be country.

How wrong i could be. You won't see me wasting time defending this one on TA or other fora. Thats for sure.

The only saving grace on this album is that most of the filler tracks have some predecessor that i related to, and loved and enjoyed. If i find the same sounds in the next year of Tiesto gigs, then i will be semi-happy. Clearly Elements Of Life is not a derivative of "these are the 4 elements in the world etc" There is no rational explanation or placing within the new Concert thematic. However. With all the older elements in these tracks - it is clearly reference to how they took samples from his previous work and cobbled together this album.

Playing the actual 'original' tracks would please me. But thats not really possible. So these updates. Will suffice. I mean suffice - because just with PoA... these tracks won't be remembered with any fondness in 5 years time like the impact IMM had.

Conclusion: The best tracks of the album, we already have known about for 6 months. How that will affect the longevity or appeal of this album for the duration of the next 12 months EoL tour. is well, beyond my thought process.

I like the tracks. But i'm not overly excited by them either.

p.s Wild Bunch - Groove Lounge & Dibaba - Hold You FTW!

I'll paste what i wrote in the thread in music discussion.

The big weakness of this album is that there are so many recycled ideas, both his own and others, and on top of that none of them are particularly exciting. All in all the album is decent, but for someone like Tiesto that's not good, it's just proof of how overrated he is. The music is technically and artistically much weaker than In My Memory and his other "golden era" works.

There are some tracks i liked however, Ten Seconds Before Sunrise, Do You Feel Me, Break My Fall. And He's A Pirate is kinda catchy.
Others are absolutely horrible, In The Dark is a big load of cheese and Elements Of Life is a new adagio for strings with another melody, a horrible cheesy one that i really don't like. Dance 4 Life needs no introduction.

"Do You Feel Me" sounds like nothing more than a rip-off of Oxia's "Domino" with a crappy vocal added to it.

Each time I actually give Tiesto another chance to stop sucking, he never does. He just keeps producing mediocre shite.

Can somebody explain to me how this guy is still #3 DJ in the World?

I shouldn't, you're right. But I care because so many people use that as their reference for decided who is a good DJ and who is not. Frankly, in my opinion, Tiesto shouldn't even be in the top 50 DJs in the world, much less the top 3...

More than Domino it sounds like a ripoff of Patrick Chardronnet - Eve By Day.

It all began with Nathan Fake - The Sky Was Pink (James Holden Remix)

Okay iv hurd the Album and lemmi tell you guyz.... Tiesto is gono make it back to the top again with these hits. The thing about it is that hes trying 2 bring a new style tho just like he did with Just be and it worked. they songs areunt TOO HIGHT up. but the vocals acaully are the best thing in 2007. The Track Carpe Noctum is like traffic but it hink he could of prefected the shit ouf it. but generalllyy its an amazing album...
