What you guys don't understand is that many dumbass rednecks will take the representation of persian in this movie somewhat seriously, because, yes, they're that dense. And so will other racist pricks. And the subtle undertones, and more blatant ones, do helps shape ignorant people's opinion as they have no other frame of reference. I have no idea what the Iranian reaction to the movie is, but it's definetly prowar/antiIrani progapanda for racists and rednecks, which would happen to be the majority of the country. Trust me, you have no idea how many times I've been called sand****** in a "liberal" town like Austin, even assaulted. Most of you probably won't be phased by it, since such ridiculous BS propaganda I believe really is in the eye of the beholder, but it will reinforce racist sentiments for a lot of people most of you don't know and don't associate with. Don't forget the dumbass support base that "elected" this administration in again. So it's not as ridiculous as you think, eventhough it is LOL. And spartans fighting under the banner of "freedom," LOL, give me a break. Most of you guys don't know much about history do you. LOL, and what's with this bullshit element in the movie about "supporting the troops?" Come on now, don't be so naive. No, I'm not saying the movie is SUPPOSED TO BE a historical record, before you silly geese say something absurd about any implications in my post lol. But it's highly exagerated and biased in it's presentation. And I find that a little hard to believe as being a genuine adaptation as Frank Miller's work since I've read his stuff before, which it bears no similiarity too.

No, you shithead it is the truth. Cyrus, ruler of all of Persia, was basically one of the first leaders to have let so many people rule thier own way. In the Persian empire, he allowed for cities to be self governed. He was not an evil totalitarian.

No, what I meant is that the Persian empire at least let the people keep their own customs and language. They just had to pay taxes to Cyrus. And fight in their wars. That was a lot more liberal than your spartans.
