...it's chock-full of people who either don't appreciate what it is they have, who purposely lead it into oblivion for their own gain (and quit nodding before you realize you completely disagree with me. More along the lines of Jesse Jackson--not those like Henry Paulson), who only gripe and complain with no offers of solutions, and/or who have a completely external locus of control which causes them to see temporary, ineffective, emotion-driven changes as the only ways to progress, completely ignoring the future and all reason either to profit or out of sheer ignorance and worthlessness.

...and that those statements actually have the possibility for mis-interpretation.

...also that several key fields of great authority are completely dominated by such people, without any challenge or objection, as they've already brainwashed a whole massive chunk of the population into thinking that they're justified in their stance, and into accepting what they spew as truth and fact, despite the reality that it is nothing more than mildly disguised propaganda that's eroding what's left of logic and anything which might promote a positive outlook on the future.

We need some basic guidelines for health care usage. Cutting programs like eye examanations won't help us curb excessive spending, but converseley, I think limitations will help keep programs in place. Am I crazy? Is this a stupid thought?

IMO they REALLY should bring back eye examinations AND dental examinations. THOSE are things that are A BASIC HEALTH CARE NEED!!

I agree that some of the other shit that gets funded is TOTAL B.S. A lot of the health coverages should be nixed.

That is the only beef I have with Canada... the malaligned priorities in regard to health care coverage.

However, I would NEVER EVER EVER EVER say I hated Canada for it. IMO, we have the best country in the world, and we take it for granted.

edit: oh, and i dont' hate this country. just lots of things about it.

You HATE Canada for those things? That seems pretty pitiful that you would hate our country for B.S. reasons like those.

Go live in China and then come back and whine about shit like that.

If you're that much against it, fucking move!
Either that, or stop being so blindly manipulated by the media and other's opinions. If you do a little research outside of CNN and Fox News you might find that going into Iraq was completely justified. Granted, the cost/duration might have been underestimated, but 1. I'm glad we went in, 2. I'm glad Hussein is gone, and 3. despite what CNN might report- most Iraqis are, too. And for every other Muslim extremist/terrorist we take out while we're over there... great- that's one less guy that'd give his life to crash a plane into a fucking building full of innocent people, or plant a bomb on a train full of innocent people in London. Wake up.

you're already familiar with the reasons some say it was justified and with the reasons that some say it wasn't. Asking such a question is only an attempt to justify your own stance based off the inability of someone else to clearly and succinctly state a case--regardless of whether or not the facts support your own. He is clearly not the world's best source for such information, so don't try to get it from him, unless you're only interested in starting a war of words and coming upon a reason to defend your stance and, possibly, insult someone who disagrees with you.

I'm actually not aware.

I am HONESTLY curious to know what the reasons are.

As far as I know

Afghanistan - weapons of mass destruction and revenge for 911 (yea... THAT was justified )
Iraq - ?????

Whatever the fuck else is going on... I have no clue.

+1

but...

The only reason I "hate" my country is that they let people in who don't appreciate it and/or say that " OMG I HATE CANADA SO MUCH" And this usually happens with immigrants, but I have heard/seen born and raised Canadians say this. If you don't fuckin' like it.. MOVE, If you came here and you don't like it...LEAVE...if you can't do anything about it..STFU!

OH yes this may sound bitter and or ignorant, but in all honesty there really is no reason to complain.

I guess it's not a real reason to hate Canada, but it does piss me off.

Afghanistan - Gave shelter and complete autonomy to Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda - the group responsible for multiple attacks against the West (9/11, USS Cole, World Trade Center in 93, Bali, Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, Riyadh, etc.). The Taliban was also considered by some rights groups to be the most oppressive government in the world, desecrating religious sites of religious viewpoints contrary to their own, and abusing many of their people. When Afghanistan refused to hand over Osama, or cooperate in his apprehension, the United States crafted a global coalition to go in and find him, and in the process overthrow the tyrannical Taliban government that gave more aid to terrorist camps than its own villages.

Iraq - I'll let you hear it from someone who actually believes the justifications that were used.

This is a thread about what you dont like about your country. I responded, you are being hostile. When you were a kid, perhaps Bush wasn't president (but who knows with your childish response). I liked America before then. I feel it has really let me down. You are being the "fucking asshole".

And it isnt a "his response" it is her response. I cant believe you would talk to a female like that...

First, I didn't know it was a female, although, I doubt my language would have changed much. Equal rights apply. And, yeah, I am aware that I'm being an asshole...

I will apologized for digressing, you're right, this was a thread about what we hate about our own country. However, I won't apologize for my comments regarding her attitude towards her country. You should apologize to me for defending a person that puts herself before her country.

If she doesn't like the war; protest, the government; get involved, corruption; chase it; the president; vote...I'm guessing by the turnout at the last election, she didn't, but now wants the right to complain.

I'm hostile because as a friend and neighbour to the USA, I actually love the country, which is why it hurts to watch it fall to shit. It pisses me off, sadly, more than you. I have to read this crap about how JFK is dead because he suggested Americans should "ask not", then another commment "yeah, no" to he same line. It's stunning to hear you defend that crap, even if I am using "hostile" language. It will be a great country again, when people start believing in that piece of philosophy.

You ARE America, YOU let America down. "Ask not" is really a statement to that effect. If you actually believe that your country let you down, then you didn't work hard enough. Turn the tv off for an hour, and get involved...fn ahole.
