Well, allow me to play devil's advocate here (quoting one of my favorite philosophy teachers, haha, you gotta say it in a really weeded out voice). Adderall, Ritalin and other drugs of their ilk are indeed just drugs for those who don't need them. HOWEVER, I would much prefer that someone use one of those than coke! Coke's addictive, and because it's illegal, it can be contaminated and possibly lethal. Adderall and Ritalin are only mildly addictive (if at all), and they're legal so you always know what you're getting.

Of course, I don't advocate regular abuse of these drugs for studying. I agree that they're an easy shortcut for those who don't bother to do their work and need to cram for exams. HOWEVER, I do think they're effective and safe recreational drugs, and using them to study has its merits.
