Jenny just wants to push people's buttons today (and every other day, but especially today), so I wouldn't take any of her posts seriously.
Sarah: I phrased it that way because this exact same discussion's been had in every sub-forum several times; I keep seeing it again and again even though I only check the forums sporadically now. To pretend you don't actually know the answer either means you've been totally oblivious to this forum's content and to the industry at large for 5 straight years, or you're having trouble accepting the well-known truth. Or, as Cosmic Fur pointed out, maybe you were trying to instigate something. That's not an accusation, just a logical 3rd possibility.
As for the comments that trance DJs magically bring their fans to emotional bliss and are treated as gods because of this inexplicable power, you all know that's a load of horse shit. Even if we put aside the fact that a piece of carpet fuzz can instill giddy euphoria in somebody who's sufficiently mashed, all the trance DJs are actually doing is stringing together tracks born out of someone else's creativity and sweat, often doing a very poor job of it. It's rare indeed that a DJ adds anything original to the pre-existing work, and the ones who do are usually not the ones treated as gods.
And no, I'm not insinuating that this is unique to trance DJs, because it isn't. The point is that the differences are inherent in the musical structure and in the fans' personalities, not the talent or style of the DJ.
