What mixer would you suggest, but reasonable price. |
if youre willing to spend about $600. id say the Allen & Heath Xone 32.
you really cant get a mixer anywhere that good for that price.
anything better than that will probably cost you fifteen hundred to two thousand dollars.
great filters and sound quality on the xone.
A&H was chosen to emulate the mixer for traktor 3.
if thats really too pricey you could get a nice vestax mixer for about 3 or 4 hundred.
you can also get something like a two channel numark or vestax for about a couple hundred dollars.
like i said though,
if you cheap out,
youre gonna wanna replace your stuff and you wont be able to sell it.
but,
if you only buy a mixer for a couple bills its not much of a loss. and you can keep it as a spare.
your worst bet is something in the $4oo dollar range.
get something great, or get something really cheap.
i went with the $4oo vestax and i upgraded to the Xone32 within a half year.

is there any tracks you or othere could recommend that would be easy to start with. i dunno if my question makes sense, but it just seems to me that some tracks blend it much better than other...again sorry for the dumb question.... |
i find tracks by Skylark to be the absolute easiest to mix.
long 4/4 intros and outros.
fairly predictable in terms of drops.
you gotta play the tracks at the right time so count 16 beats (tapping your foot might help) then play your second track. use the automix button if you dont have the beats per minute matched already or if you dont start it at the right time. beats per minute is the tempo of the track. the two tracks have to be adjusted so the bpms are the same. when tow tracks have an equal bpm the beats will fall at the same time.

a good way to start off with traktor, mix tracks made by the same producer. they'll have similar basslines that are easier to match. ive been playing with traktor 3 for over a year now and i think ive got it good now. im actually recording a mix right now that ill post in the dj list. once you get it, its actually a lot of fun. i suggest reading the manual as well. that'll help you get a feel for the controls and what they do. usually you start the next track at the drop.. but not always.

its a cheat if you use the synch, otherwise its the best you can get without actual decks

no its not about the sync but about waveform display yes it is incredibly handy if play in ableton or 3 decks but otherwise i think djs should feel their music and not read it |
you can read it on the 800s and 1000s
not to sound like an ass or anything.
ill be the first to take decks over traktor but what im saying is, its a good starting tool to learn the way of djing and by able to see the waveform, it can teach you how it relates to the songs for structure etc.
