i got an anchovie bone stuck in my throat once. made my esophagus swell up to the point where I almost couldn't breath after about 12 hours, then somehow managed to dislodge itself. it was a frightening experience. i'm scared of eating anchovies or sardines now, i chew the hell outta them.
