Dude, I understand wrestling fans like to hang on for every little hope, or "Say it isn't so" thinking when all the indicators are so damn obvious.

not close to what I meant. I should have said a little more. I don't care if he was a wrestler or not. I am just saying that people face a lot things in life (as in inner demons)that causes them to do drastic or horrible things. who knows what compelled Chris to do what he did. I don' condone it or believe in it, but there's always two sides to the story.

couldnt have said it better although i find it hard to understand what would make a man strangle a 7 year old son of his.

The wrestling industry has known to be the most gruelling to work in with so much traveling and spending time away from home and it seems like it is taking its toll on some of them ... mixing steroids w/ anti depressants and god knows what all has to fry your mind atleast if it doesnt kill you ... wrestlers like the texas tornado , yokozuna , andre the giant, mr. perfect, eddie guerrero etc. all passed away either by committing suicide or mixing drugs so its definitely an issue the wwe and other wrestling companies need to look at for the well being of their employees and the industry as a whole and hopefully this benoit incident will make them realize that something needs to be done about it.

It appears his son had Fragile X syndrome:

http://www.wrestlezone.com/article....cleid=184924207

quote:

Canadian female Pam Winthrope told News 1130 in Canada that Chris Benoit's son had a genetic condition called Fragile X syndrome.

According to WebMD, "Fragile X Syndrome is a defect of the X chromosome which causes mild mental retardation. The disorder occurs more frequently and severely among males than females. This condition is the leading known familial cause of mental retardation in the United States. Language delays, behavioral problems, autism or autistic-like behavior (including poor eye contact and hand-flapping), enlarged external genitalia (macroorchidism), large or prominent ears, hyperactivity, delayed motor development and/or poor sensory skills are among the wide range of symptoms associated with this disorder."

Winthrope, whose son also suffers from the condition, told the Canadian news outlet that her husband reached out to Benoit five years ago in an attempt to increase awareness about Fragile X.

She told News 1130, "We talked to him because I was trying to set up a support group in BC and in Canada, we only have a couple of them. My husband was struggling when we got diagnosed with our son, and Chris was struggling with his. They talked for a few minutes and then he said he didn't want to be a public face for Fragile X, he just wanted to keep it really, really quiet."

This whole thing is getting weirder by the hour

Andre died of congestive heart failure, a byproduct of the growth hormone secreting pituitary tumor he had much of his life and chose not to have treated.

YokoZuna (Anoa'i) eventually died from his significant weight on October 22, 2000. He was 34 years old, and weighed almost 600 pounds.

Wrestling better watch out.....I think this could be the start of the end for wrestling as we know it. Too many wrestlers dying at young ages with drug connections to them.

^^agreed. This is long time coming.. it could be the beginning of the end for Vince McMahon's empire at least.

interesting. I was just reading in the Globe and Mail that Eddie Guerrero would read bible passages to Chris Benoit during their "250 mile drives". Guerrero's death hit Benoit hard, and I remember Benoit being by far the most distraught during those taped tributes for Guerrero on Raw.

So that, combined with the 'roids, drugs and familial issues prolly added to/caused his depression ... and thus leading to his demise. So it's no coincidence that bibles were placed with the dead bodies, imo.
