yeah look don't get me wrong - it's still bleach which is just purely awesome but the problem is there's a few different filler arcs:

1: the story continues on a long time into the future, characters have developed/aged a bit (which the filler can fill in)
2: the story continues pretty much from where it left off... maybe 1 month after

bleach's filler is of the 2nd variety... the problem with fillers like this is that they can't play upon character development... the story really goes nowhere and once it's finished it doesnt make any references to what happened before

only good thing about it is there are some vry nice fights

anime thread aye ... anyone who is an anime lover here should check out the old school stuff, esp. anime series from the early 80's.

I highly recommend:

SDF Macross [known as Robotech if you've watch Agro's Cartoon Connection haha] ~ though Robotech changes the story a bit. Watch the original japanese SDF Macross for the proper ending oh it's a mecha anime - the usual transforming robot jets, though music is the central theme

Kimagure Orange Road : high school love triangle story with a bit of magic haha, may sound typical but is actually deeper than you expect.

Plenty of other legendary animes out there that doest rely on full blown action :

Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, GTO, Ranma 1/2, Kare Kano [though it was cut half way due to budget?], X-TV.
So much more but my brain is a bit dead at the moment.
