your DSLR (most likely) is already in a 3:2 format, as far as i know they all are, are you confusing this with crop factor by any chance? what camera do you have?

I got a nikon d40 but cropping is not something in question here. I heard most people in photography shops saying that 6x8 inches is the only good size to fit a clear picture for 6 mp. Film is another story, as you're more flexible with it.

I wanna make a 2 feet x 3 feet print with out it being faded/blurred out.

DUDE....I PRINTED A 12x18 SHOT FROM MY DSLR WHICH IS 6.3MP
(with no loss in color, clarity, sharpness, anything, and could still go larger, i printed a 12x36 panaromic that i stiched together which looked amazing)

that might be pushing it, but RAW is a better (higher quality retaining) format, so it might also be a very good chance it'll look good as well.

where do you usually get your shots developed at? I mean for bigger than standard paper sizes.

i work at costco, and i've familiarized myself with the photo lab equipment there, so i can make any appropriate adjustments i need, we print 12x18 and 12x36 as our largest size, but possibly larger as well since we got some new machines, i'll find out for you. i usually print my larger shots in matte finsih.
