Red alert 2 was still the best, though.
if you're talking about the original rainbow 6, that game drove me insane, with all the fucking route mapping & tedious objectives. That game basically turned me off to everything remotely resembling it (like that entire series, mgs, etc.). Also, the mic pack that came with it if you pre-ordered it was totally useless.

Also, If you do end up getting max payne - be sure to get the kung fu mod. It makes the game so much more fun. I remember playing it without using any guns.

i read the title and started thinking commander keen, duke nukem (NOT 3d, 3d kicked some ass but the original side scroller was fuckign awesome), and HOW THE FUCK COULD NO ONE MENTION X-COM!!!!!
Bobby and Mezzir get points for being the only people to mention Commander Keen, which is the single greatest video game of all time. Well... after Pong.
Oh, and Kadomony gets an honorable mention for honorably mentioning Oregon Trail and Carmen Sandiego.
