Heard my first negative review of this today, my friend said it was funny in the beginning, but totally lost all its steam in the middle (his biggest complaint was essentially that the middle didn't even really seem to make sense as far as the flow of the movie).

That being said, I'm still wicked excited to see it on Saturday - just thought I'd share the only real negative review I've heard.

eh, don't worry yourself about reviews in this situation. It's a silly teen movie that will make you laugh a lot - plot and flow are irrelevant in a character comedy that is well-acted and has some superb dialogue., which this one most certainly has.

If you liked the 40 Year Old Virgin, you will enjoy this one, I promise.

I like how people watch this type of movie and try to break it down like: " The lighting wasnt so good" or The plot was kinda weak. Come on its a "dumb" movie that funny as shit. Just take it for what it is. Flow of the movie?! If you went to this was hoping to be blown away by storyline....Ill have what you're smokin.

Some comedies are very well-constructed, if you'd believe it.

Too bad shit like American Pie is making people ignorant to the fact that humour is one of the highest forms of communication there is.

Why do I need to make myself dumber in order to be entertained?

I'm consistently baffled by people who chastize you for having high standards when seeing a movie. I'm fucking paying for it, they spent millions on it and those actors got fat checks, so why the fuck SHOULDN'T IT BE GOOD?

Often, it's not whether or not the film is too over-the top, or too cheesy, or too dramatic, it's that they can't decide what they want it to be and the inconsistency is what kills it. (ex: Transformers) Dumb & Dumber: perfect example of ridiculous comedy that worked great.
