quality naturally. i can't stand bad sound quality even though i'm no audiophile and can't hear a difference between an 192kbps mp3 and CD for example (at least i'm pretty sure i can't, never tried to compare the two side by side though).
my girlfriend on the other hand couldn't give two fucks about sound quality and happily listens to radio with horrible sound quality and won't notice any difference in it compared to something proper! she doesn't like high volume though. but she doesn't really listen to music for the music, more for the lyrics.
i also have one mate who's like that, doesn't give a fuck about sound quality. it's pretty much all about high volume to him and he'll happily listen to crap sound quality as long as it's loud enough. and he loves listening to music, does it all day long, but he'll never put any money on it, won't buy good headphones to hear better sound quality, but rather uses some crap ones that came with some magazine for free!
i really don't get people like that.

It's all about sound quality.

I was at the arches for behrouz and sasha at the weekend and they just recently had a funktion 1 rig set up which is supposed to be one of the best systems you can get. They still managed to make it sound shite, by having it far too loud and bassy.

Space, ibiza on the other hand is a perfect example of how sound should be..

The best example I can think of tho is cocoon in frankfurt. The system has enough power to fill a venue like the old wembley so they never have to push it over 25% of it's capability, meaning crystal clear sound that is in no-way over bearing.

Great system!!

....ok thats in a perfect senario...but yeah also having your tracks being the smae quality and volume is important. You dont want to go from a loud to a soft track always, and visa versa for quality.

if its too loud because of the quality of the recording than we're talking about something that can't be controlled w/o engineering. so yeah, get an equalizer or compressor whatever they' called.
I hate when i'm riding passenger and the person has they're shitty speakers full blast making my ears bleed.
and i also hate it when the rip quality of a track is so much different from the others in a mix that it sticks out.
wish i knew more about sound engineering tho.
