I think the key word here is 'theory'.
And nope, I've never heard of it. I'm not a theory person. I tend to go with scientific fact. That's to say something that has been proven, by scientists.
And the fact is no one knows, for sure, how it originated.

EDIT: Just researched this theory of yours and read many writings along the lines of:

All science is a theory.
The hunter theory seems pretty damn accurate if you look at all the facts. Zoonosis from monkey to human, only around since 1950s, first cases in 1980s. I'm always fascinated by people, especially when they think that it has been around forever. Simple fact is it hasn't and barely became an epidemic a few years before I was born.
It's akin to the theory of how dinosaurs got wiped out. No one knows for sure but there's a common theory regardless.
I'm interested, how exactly did you think HIV started and better yet when? Were you never aware of how remarkably similar it is to the primate SIV virus? Oh and how eating monkeys is pretty common aswell?
