I used to trust the people I love implicitly but it would seem that that was a very bad idea. When you trust someone important to your life and they totally screw you over you cant help but let it change you.
Trust issues ahoy.

Agreed, and unfortunately they don't go easy. And people wonder why I don't have many friends :/
As long as you never lose full sight of just who you were before you were betrayed, I don't think that the resulting change can ever be a wholly bad thing.
You may very well change for the worse or for the better, but often times, even the worse events can make us realize just who we are. Or were. Whichever is more important to you is probably the one you will see most clearly.
Trust without question though? Foolish.

I guess so, I just hope it doesn't ruin my relationships with others.
Foolish indeed, I guess I just didn't expect my friend and my boyfriend to go off together. Cest le vie.

I hope you don't think I'm saying you were foolish for trusting someone... or that you were made a fool by that person who betrayed your trust. That's simply not the case.
I doubt it will really have a bad effect on you in the long run though because you won't let it.

Kind of... seems like faith is more the expressed absence of actual evidence yet the persistent belief anyways. I mean, if you only have faith in those things that have evidence, it's not really faith. It's like saying "I believe in the sky" - whether you believe or have faith or whatever in the sky is really quite irrelevant - there's enough fucking evidence that what we know as the sky actually exists, your beliefs have no actual bearing on its existence. So perhaps evidence can be considered by the faithful as one of those eventual things? Whatever, I put faith in so few things...

Unfortunately the only person you can really fully trust is yourself and some people don't even have that luxury.

Me.
You see, I have OCD + other fucked up mental issues. I can't even stay congruent with my own fucking ideal frame. This very post is an example of it... If I think of the possibility of replying to this post, I will, even though I don't actually want to.
The same thing has caused me to give out information to some close friends that I'd rather not have.
Fuck. I honestly hate my shit life. This is just one aspect of it.
