But wait - that isn't the point at all - the point is that if he's going to do all these interviews for a few years talking about how designing this revolutionary controller is going to make his sets sound unique and more dynamic than others out there, and then decide "Hey, people are calling me out on really not doing shit with it - so now I'm just going to say I do it because it's easier" is a crock of shit.

So yeah - way to miss it, Jimmy.

Again, you have tried to analyze the situation based on a comment he gave from an interview. I'd be more willing to spend time speculating the issue if it was brought up into a much larger discussion. You're basically throwing out everything he has ever done with the program based on 1 response he gave in an interview. Is that really fair?

No, actually - I'm basing it on responses he's given in several interviews over the years regarding his use of Ableton and Maven.

Keep swinging for the fences though - bound to knock one out of the park eventually. Law of averages, you know?

By the way, where the hell did you come up with this? Where did he say he uses it because it's easier? Did I miss that quote?

Gather up the interviews you've read my friend, I'm calling you out on this.

You are the one who said he does it because it's easier, in the interview he simply says he "mixes the same way he does on vinyl" in Ableton - which implies the only reason he uses Ableton is not to carry extra shit around, hence easier.

And for grandstanding regarding all the new things he was supposedly going to do with Ableton just Google "Sasha Interview" and look around a bit - I don't care to waste my time educating you as you simply refuse to learn, time and time again.

Edit: Fuck, just search TA FFS.

The only thing I stated regarding "ease" is carrying around the damn music. That has nothing to do with Ableton. Nice try though.

And well, if you can't prove yourself right then I guess I'll have to continue believing you are very wrong. And why would I search through billions of Sasha interviews to find what you are talking about when you could simply tell me which ones you've read where he says that? If you can remember him speaking along those lines I'm sure you could remember atleast a couple where you read it from.

Your ignorance is not now, nor will ever be, my responsibility (incidentally, nor is clarifying the points I've made - which any individual with the slightest of reading and/or comprehension skills could easily derive from my posts).

Your argument is essentially analogous to saying that because you never read a text book about the American revolution, the U.S. must still be an English colony.

You noodle that and have a wonderful day Mr. Morris.

Well, you made some pretty specific points in which you couldn't defend. I really would like to believe you, based on reading comprehension, but I'm not that gullible either, which is why I asked you for some links to interviews in which he states the things you are claiming. Unfortunately, you didn't do that. So whether I have any skills in the art of reading or not really doesn't matter, now does it?

You have a good day too, sir.

Bwahahahahahaha!!!!

Well no, you see... we still have Sasha alive today giving interviews and based on the ones I have read and based on the sets I have heard, you are essentially full of shit. You said you read interviews where he says things that would simply back up your claims. Am I out of line for asking you to give me links to those interviews, so I can come back here and say "Thanks. I stand corrected. You were right RJT."

This is very entertaining by the way.

A semi-amicable end to an unpleasant exchange, and now you had to go and take one last swing.

And what he's actually doing in his sets, which supports his own quote. It's not as if he's made one ambiguous quote that doesn't correlate with his DJing, as DOOMBOT seems to be suggesting.

Yes it does. It's directly linked by causality. He doesn't have to carry around records because he's using Ableton. That was the very logic you posited:

"Why would he carry around 1000+ records when he can carry around 1000+ mp3's on a laptop?"

Why is he carrying MP3s on a laptop? Because he has Ableton! We're all agreed that the "ease" here is that of transporting records, so don't try and muddy the water by claiming we're disagreeing over that part.
