I know of someone who has been living in China for awhile now, who said that this is how they line up for things over there. They don't do it in a line. They just mob the entrance and push in from all sides. lol.

that is pretty much exactly how it went down. They were even walking right to the side of the front and trying to hope over the metal divider in front of 100 patiently waiting people. Of course he was thrown back over by a few of us

I agree about the patio needing more bass. Always thought that myself. It may be a matter of not disturbing the neighbors though as to why they keep it so minimal, because that patio has an open-air sky-light. Even when it's covered, I think it's only by a bit of canvas awning.

EDIT: Oh, and I think the Washers must be reading the TA board; I didn't see one washer all night.

Kazell was home sick, so Hac Le and I held the patio from 10-3. We had the bass turned up earlier but the security guy kept coming up to us and telling us to "turn it down another 30%". He would go away and we would try to turn it back up, but he was shadowing us most of the night so that spoiled our chances. Not fun.

I know better than to put my friends on the discount list next time. None of them made it in, except for the two that went to the general admission line to pay $40 and the other group that greased the doorman to get in (on top of paying $40 cover)

Aaahh, so I wasn't imagining it! I thought the bass seemed louder at one point earlier in the evening, and then quite a bit less so later on, when I came back up to the Patio for a visit.

It certainly couldn't have been called "adequate", this level at which Security wanted it played. That does suck for all concerned. This isn't Adult Contemporary music. Electronic music without bass is like cake without any sugar in it; It's there, but it's not as sweet.

Reminds me when I saw TIesto at Avalon. I think I was about 35-40th in line whern I got there (at like 9:15pm)...by thet ime doors open, I was probably several hundred back because the line was easily 4-8 people wide per person. I finally got fed up and almost got into a few fights....one of which almost totally went off but the dude backed off with the "if I wasn't drunk"

I would have probably been ganged up on and beaten, but I didn't care at the time...I was on about an hour sleep (saw tiesto in SF the night before then had to go to work right after before going to LA), was PISSED, and ready to throw down.
