Let's talk about the sketchy girl who WAS promoting for The Basemen Saturday night outside of Footwork.
I was waiting outside Footwork in my car for some friends to grab there coats. This girl sees me roll down my window to have a smoke. Instantly she darts across the street towards my car.
Girl: “You wanna come to this after party?”
Me: “Ummm… maybe. Where is it?”
Girl: “Here take these” *gives me a bunch basement promotion card*
Me: “Ohhhh I heard about this place. I was actually thinking about checking it out one day.”
Girl: “Umm you should like totally come to it today……it’s like, like it’s wicked….. like, like we have dj’s….. and like, like its gonna be awesome.”
Me: *I burst out laughing at her* “Yeah I know Paranoid Jack, Dj Rudee and El Duran are playing there now…… I’ll like, like, like maybe checkout”. *I rolled up my window as my friends all laughed at her*
I ended up at zone that morning. At 2 pm I decided to check out ‘The Basement’. I drove all the way over to it, paid for parking and the fuckin place wasn’t open. The door was locked and it looked like nothing was going on inside.
Anyone know whats the deal with that? It closes at 5 pm???
NOT BEING A PROMOTER. I heard from a few people it was a good spot to checkout. The girls to guys ratio is a huge bonus from the flood in boys town at cz.

When CiRCA opened I immediate had a hate on because I'm a loyal Guv patron. Now the loyal CZ fanatic is peturbed by this 'new basement.
Like CiRCA, I will definitely check this place out and see what it has to offer. Competition brings out the best in everyone. Hell.. maybe CZ will end up lowering it's cover (I heard it used to be 10 or 15 when there were 3-4 other after-after hour clubs in TO).
I hope it does well as it's always nice to have a choice of what to do at 7am when Guv kicks everyone out, lol. The furniture definitely sounds more comfortable than comfort zone's.. what's the deal with that??

great thread!!!
totally didn't expect it to head in this direction when i answered Sheldon's review earlier.
This word "loyalty" has been poppin up alot lately. Not in a good way either. This i hope is a trend that discontinues sooner rather than later.
also london_ta it probably shut down early. As mentioned in this thread it empties out by mid-morning (between 11 and noon) so that might have had something to do with it.

I was at a techno party at 178 Bathurst back in December, and the space was called "BLAK" then!
You walk down an narrow alley and enter into the basement of a building. There are essentially two 'rooms' that wer created at the party I was at.
Place had a great feel.
Loved it. Was a great night of techno. If we're talking same place (178 Bathurst) then I'd love to hit it up on a morning for some good party times!!
