The best part of the night for me was Angello playing Nathan Fake - Outhouse (Valentino Kanzyani remix). What a fucking bomb! did not expect something like this from Steve at all!
More notable techy goodness from last night:
Paolo Mojo - Nightlaw
Jerome Sydenhan & Tiger Stripes - Elevation (Radio Slave's One More Kiss Remix)
The Field - Over The Ice (??? remix)
Mark Knight and Funkagenda - Shogun
Popof - Alcoolic
Also Steve played something that sounded a lot like Radio Slave's Grindhouse but not Dubfire remix. I might be wrong on this one...

that was pretty f'n cool...definite highlight. Ditto for Tracey Thorne - Grand Canyon. She easily has some of the best vocals in music, period.
my first night at Guv in almost a year as I was really growing to dislike the crowd and drama, but it wasn't "Guv rammed" even at the height of the night and people were generally pretty cool.
definitely a harder set than Angello played alone at TIL last year...but I expected that at Guv. They both looked like they were having as much fun as we were. Angello on the mike was great...a good example of DJs working a crowd without appearing cheesy at all. Thumping basslines, vocals, etc. The thing that strikes me about Angello's last CD set "Sizeism" is the seemless moving between genres and they did a bit of that last night too. We took off sometime between 4:30 and 5:00 and they were still going strong.
Swedish House Mafia FTW...an awesome return to the Guv for me

They didn't play as many of their own stuff as I thought they would, but they still blew everyone away.
Was happy to hear some serious house like that. It's seldom delivered in Toronto with such finesse and I idolize that kind of skill.

they were coming on just as i got in the club, was surpised how they were using the mic so much and were looking the crowd right on, as opposed to other djs who hide a few feet back in the dark.
the first part of their set had me moving like crazy... it was mostly laidback luke style hard edged house at this point. later on the 4-bar melodies and prog came in which wasn't as intense.. but the last couple of techy hours were sick. and yeah the best track i heard was the outhouse remix by valentino karsdjaaasdfdsj, haven't heard that in a club since markus schulz 1 year ago haha
SO glad i went out, i kind of felt like it would be a relatively shitty night with S&D taking all the anticipation for the weekend... but i was wrong, this party was off the hook in every way. only complaint was the crowd, i swear the sketch viet phenomenon is getting worse, had little mother******s crawling around me, swinging elbows into me and creeping me out every 10 seconds wherever i went. think they were playing hide and seek or someshit
