First of all, a movie can't be judged outside of its "historical" context. It's not purely about influence, more about in what way a movie has enriched filmmaking, culture and society.
Apart from being wrong about that, you're also wrong about Metropolis being an inferior movie. The visuals, the production, and the twisted plot all form an exhilarating and grasping work. It may have a different appeal than modern SF films (understandably in that very genre), but in my eyes it ranks among the greatest of all time.

No, the reason you see it so often is because you make an absolute arse of yourself as often as you do. You make claims that are absurd, and genuinely try very, very hard to come off as if you understand things you clearly don't.

It has nothing to do with "who looks better or worse", and has everything to do with the things you say in the posts you make. Nothing more, nothing less.
