It doesn't take any kind of special technique to do what Hawtin is doing now, unless of course you count beatmatching records with little more than an "un-tiss" going on in them as somehow more impressive just because Hawtin is doing it.

What I don't see is how you still fail to grasp is the fact that because someone has a strong opinion that disagrees with yours, doesn't make that person "upset." It just means they have an opinion that's different from you.
No one's trying to convince you to quit being a blatant fanboy (I imagine most on this forum gave up that pursuit ages ago), but not everyone is going to buy the shit you try to sell them either.

If it's not to make money then why are they charging people to join? Maybe it was a joke that turned serious but it's also making them and their label/sponsors money. They know that this will be very successful and bring a lot more exposure to them, the label, the sponsors, their parties and the music itself. I don't see this as being a bad thing. I personaly won't benefit from it in any way which is why I won't be joining but I'm sure others will.
