I hate my neighbourhood. I too love the food diversity of this city. It's one of the major reasons why I like living here. And I think people here are really disconnected, they seem like such social retards in this city; afraid to even make eye contact with a total stranger.

I hate the "fun police" as Graham mentioned. It's like everyone wants cottage country in the 3rd or 4th biggest city in North America (I swear it's only a matter of time before there's a curfew imposed on the Gardiner).

Our waterfront is downright pathetic. I'd love it if we had a long strip of bars, lounges, cafes and restaurants along the lake where everyone can go and socialize. Something like College St, but with no traffic obviously. It would be a great tourist spot too.

The TTC is incredibly inefficient. Although not as bad as some make it out to be, it's definitely worse than a lot of other transit systems I've used. There should definitely be more dedicated street car lanes. I can't imagine what reasoning was used when designing the street car track system ("OH! Let's have the street cars and vehicles on the roads share 1 lane!! That's so unique!" )

Too many Jamaicans.

this is kinda contradicting......

i like that the people in our city don't all dress up perfect and pretty. individuality is key.

You don't need to have lots of $ or be shallow to dress pretty

LOL Kris the question was the things YOU like/don't like about Toronto, not what makes it better... I am expressing my opinion, you disagree, which is fine either way..Like I said, to each their own.

I think the contradition is that you view pretentious people as a con but have critiques of people above and below the line.

Even when my friend from New York came here, she was surprised to see that people dress way too casually.

I think you're trying to say that you find people in this city don't seem to have a sense of style or fashion in their dress compared to other large urban centres you've been in (obviously this is a generalization, but you're basing this on your own observations.) Let me know whether I'm off base with this.

totally agree with Sash on the clothes factor
way too many bums who disgust me by their looks - its like, common, at least get out of those ugly track suit bottoms and brush your hair

every time I fly through Europe I can't stop starring at how nicely dressed everyone is, especially in airports - when I'm flying out of Pearson, it seems like people look even worse there then out on the street

PRO:

-Toronto island in the summer
-Good Restaurants and pretty authentic multinational food
-relatively safe
-Danforth on a summer evening for a drink

CON:

-Bad transport system. Toronto needs more one way streets and to abolish the street car. More highways needed. Also needs better transit in the form of busses, subways and trains.

-Insecure people with attitude problems... never seen it worse than here and i dunno why. I think the snobbiness from insecure people and the resulting social retardation of toronto is the number one problem in Toronto to be honest.

-Parking. Both the rules and it's enforcement and how its a cash cow.

- Fun police, i dont need to say more
