ooh thats a good one - still have to do some hunting here.

actually sounds like an old italian track, perhaps on MBG records, because of that bassline, the quality, the flutes, and pads.

cf. university of love - vostok 3 (mbg deep trip), dj mbg - ore: nove nove

when he dropped it i remember thinking, this shit is def. older than 1995. this track must be a classic, i'm surprised no one has IDed it. could be UR?

oops nm

MK - MKappella

as expected, 1991- must have been a huge record in italy, because this is like the template for their early 90s sound plus a few more percs

you can buy it digitally here:

That venue looks sick. Where is it in relation to the city/houses and can they have the music loud?

this is it:

the gowanus canal area is an older industrial neighborhood with some old factories and stuff (the can factory across the canal is a famous one) however, like most post-industrial areas in nyc, it is becoming targed by developers, and actually this venue I believe will not be around next summer because they are building condos there.

but it was awesome while it lasted. tacos were so good, drinks were cheap, people were awesome, and the music was, well....

spent several beautiful sunday afternoons there drunk on sangria and life

Can't believe I missed this the first time, good shit.

EDIT: Gonna buy the MK Acapella when I get home from work, great track, reminds me of "The Whistle Song" a lot, which was always a favorite of mine.

Anyone putting together a tracklist for this mix?

Hey thanks for sharing Adam - I'm really glad deep house is getting the main stage these days. It's a very accessible genre that can still offer a lot to long-time listeners.
