It's times like these I wish TA had an "insert quote" button on the reply page, but oh well - here goes.
@JBJ - Really curious to see whether or not you enjoyed this. Knowing a lot of people are moving on from the EDM scene in general, I always like to hear the thoughts of people who might be a little resistant to dance music at the moment.
@Pseudo Society - Thanks for grabbing it on a whim - hoping you were pleasantly surprised.
@tjpatel - Much like Glannie, I owe you an incredible debt of gratitude, not just for making this mix possible, but also for going above and beyond to help me hone my own sound. Without the two of you and your constant tips, there's no way I'd be able to stay sounding as current as I do, yet be able to maintain my own identity. It means a lot to me when folks who've had that kind of impact on me as an artist enjoy the end result. Thank you.
@IpLaYWiTLiGhTs - You raise an interesting question that I haven't found the answer to, and that has been asked in a few threads for this. The proper ID for that tune (which is on a compilation of rereleases) is:
Rocco - Thursday Night, Friday Morning (Original Mix) [Buzzin' Fly 2007, 2008]
But a lot of people have asked whether or not it was much, much older. The truth is, I don't know - and Discogs hasn't helped. The lyrics are eerily similar Alena - Turn it Around [1999] (some folks might be more familiar with the 4 Strings cover), but aren't exactly the same. So to answer your question - I don't know, but I'd like to.
@david.michael - Thank you so much for the thoughtful review bro, I always appreciate that kind of thoughtfulness. I definitely know that my taste will not always match those who are listening to it, so I can understand the notion that some people get tired of the needless noodling. One thing I will say, and only because you mentioned the speakers you were on, is that if you listen to this mix without a low end, it's going to sound very, very flat and bland. There is so much going on in the low range frequencies, that if you aren't hearing them all, you're probably missing a lot of what makes the set special.
That might not be the case - but just a thought in case you decided to give it another go in a different environment. Thanks again for everything duder - really appreciate it.
@Theodore Promotion - Hope you got my PM, and as always, I very much enjoy putting something together that you enjoy. Next time I'm in Atlanta you'd best make it out.
Thanks again to everyone else - this got a bit long, so I may have missed something or someone, but rest assured that I really do appreciate the fact that any of you would sacrifice even a few minutes to give this a shot, much less 78 minutes.
