Pakistan is not Kashmir, all the attacks in Pakistan mentioned in that qoute is in border areas of Afghanistan.. so it should be considered an extension of on-going war in Afghanistan which has lost its borders and moved to North Pakistan.

during the 90's there was a period when NYC had about 50 murders a week!!! (50 per 8 million) that's actually higher than 100 murders a week in a population of 28 million.

How about treating them like the criminals they are? Oh but no, we have send in the military and call it a "War on Terror". Well congratulations. You just turned a group of organized criminals into into something worth fighting for on their side. The overwhelming majority of terrorist groups to have been shut down and eliminated were done so by POLICE enforcement. NOT military occupations of entire countries. Look at Palestine. Israel has been occupying them for how many decades? And still the terrorism continues. Afghanistan, how many years have we been fighting the Taliban now? Iraq, 100 murders last week, and you call that success? There are OTHER ways, and you've got problems if you think military occupation is the only solution, or just plain delusional...

You're right but you are ahead of yourself.
In order to have a police presence you have to have some civility or order to the government and etablish some sort of control in the area before you can 'police' it - hence military...

It's the whole reason they're still there!
