OH MY LORDY
It's fucking indescribable.
It's the details that make it so good... the spices on the potatoes or the perfect temperature of the spanokopita (spelling???? It's egg and spinach in filo-pastry)
Her dad taught me how to make traditional tzaziki sauce. It is now my culinary secret weapon.

i have no idea if its greek though i tend to think so but humous with bread is simply delicious!
Jamie you need to go to Greece someday, if only for the food (and the gorgeous men who will serve it to you ). i've never eaten better in my entire life than when i was in Greece.
i could seriously live solely on Mediterranean cuisine... Greek, Italian, Spanish, Moroccan, etc. YUM

Sounds like my Polish friend who's parents are from the motherland. I can't go inside their house without his mom going nuts with the food. There's no escape once you walk through that door. You're fucking eating weather you like it or not!

Yeah man I noticed that the first few times I visited my wife's family. And you can't say no because they take all that time making everything from scratch. We went to her mom's friend's house in NY to pick something up that her mom left there... they are from Ukraine... we never even met them before and we got stuck there for 3 hours because they cooked up this elaborate 5 course meal. The husband put on a Russian movie for me with english subtitles while he cooked, and during the meal they were toasting to something every 5 minutes. I was hammered by the time I left...lol. But it was awesome, they were treating us like we were family and they only knew us for a few hours! I rarely see that here.

It's not a chain.
Pat's is the cheesesteak MECCA.
It's the cheesesteak sandwich where all other cheesesteak sandwiches are compared to.
Anyone else been to Philadelphia to experience one?
Geno's was OK, but I preferred Pat's.

The cheesesteak sandwich from Chili's is better. I don't know what the big deal is about Geno's and Pat's... I think people feel like they have to say it's amazing because it's considered the original. Like those commercials with Pizza Hut's pasta being served in a nice Italian restaurant and the people are like "oh my god this is so gooooood!"

I just came back from a week in Raleigh, not far from you. My brother lives there.
I was introduced to a real Southern BBQ. I brought back a gallon of the BBQ sauce you have there that you mix with a pulled pork sandwich. Yum!
I also got Bone Suckin' Sauce while I was there. Can't wait to try it next time I do ribs.
Hush Puppies were also a new food I tried that I've never had. Tasty with the honey butter not available up here either :P
The last place my brother took me to was to a Golden Corral where I was able to sample much of southern coooking. Yeah, a really cheep buffet, but nice to try different things.
