My original point was referring to these fuck wits who were born and raised in Australia, and have never even BEEN to their parents' original country, then proceed to support Greece, Italy or wherever they're from in the soccer and say "I'm Greek", rather than "I'm Australian".

Be proud of your heritage. I know I am, but it's where you spent most of your life that defines you, not where you ancestors spent theirs.

Oooooh got you on a technicality

No, I was born in Croatia. Left when I was almost 8, lived in New Zealand for 4.5 years, been in Australia almost 10. Yes, I have triple-citizenship too

Good points and I agree with a lot of them, especially the ones about those fuckwits. You know those fights between Serbs and Croats, Greeks, Italians etc? A majority of them are born in Australia, have never been to their "home" country, usually don't even speak the language and they are so filled with propaganda from their dickhead grandparents and parents. Then they go and give the rest of us bad names.

I get these tools come up to me and go "Oh fuck man, that guy is a Serb. You should hate him".
Funnily enough though, I was there during the war, I lost relatives, I'm fluent in Croatian, I visit as often as I can, and yet I'm the one who doesn't mind Serbs (most of them) and have Serb friends and they go and spew this bullshit to me! It pisses me off to no end at which point I tell them that Brits are closer to Croatian then they bloody are and that they should take their awfully biased and brainwashed views elsewhere.

I sat next to a woman on the plane from Frankfurt to Singapore who is a Croat immigrant from like 40 years ago. Her daughter who is more an aussie (born here, lives here, calls here home, considers herself aussie) was with her too. They seemed nice until she started spouting all this Serb hate and hating on random religions I was sooooooooo close to putting her in her place but quickly realised that I would have to sit next to her for the next 12 hours so I grabbed my trusty iPod and noise cancelling earphones and relaxed to some choons because bloody hell, I would have unleashed...

Anyway, as for sporting events...depends on the sport I tend to go for Cro, Aus and NZ as much as possible but Croatia will always win out. If it's Aus vs NZ, then NZ will usually come out ahead. Go the All Blacks!

Actually generation X moved away from early marriage in order to do what the oldies didn't do i.e. pursue career, travels and other things. Generation Y on the other hand are reversing the trend and are marrying younger. Seems every second generation does the opposite of the generation before it.

I suppose the beaches aren't as colorful when it's dark, true.
