I want to modify what I said about the 18-200 tho. I would only recommend it as an "all-around" walk about lens. Although I haven't seen tests for it, if I can go by Nikon's 18-200 offering, the lens has the potential for distortion at the extremeties - it's almost by nature. If you know what kind of shooting you plan to be doing (and you should) I would advise to target a more specific lens for your needs. |
Yeah they are pre-order. Saw that too, and balked. I guess we will see how much the internet brings it down.
Also, I would be the first to tell people to wait and save more to get what you want and not to go "cheap" as that just results in disdain for your purchase. On the other hand, mastering this camera if only used casually and occasionally, not constantly, will result in too much equipment for someone who didn't use a manual focus SLR enough to understand what the different things do.
