Especially since new CPUs are becoming more and more reliant on hyperthreading. Look at the new Intel Nehalem processor. It's core speeds are the same but it relies on transferring processor power from unused cores onto ones that are taking the load.
Now, if FL Studio doesn't get with the program and with the increasingly CPU heavy VSTs coming out, it might actually come to a point where it's unusable because you could have an 8 core CPU but you end up only using one or two.
