Never gonna happen with Lebron making a run at the finals with the Cavs this year (great team). You heard it here first, Cavs/Lakers this year at the finals.

it's really not about lebron that i'm excited about primarily, but it's having cap space again and not being tied to stupid contracts to make a run at the deep free agent class of 2010.

Ah, well then you should be excited, cause its gonna be a whole new knicks team, minus Lebron for now, but I could see a Bosh leaving Toronto
EDIT: I understand how you feel, because were going thru the same thing here in Toronto with the Maple Leafs, and im pretty excited on who they decided to bring to the team within the next couple of years, aslong as they dont fuck it up like they always do. Rebuilding phases means I can actually go see a Leafs game for cheap within the next few years and maybe score some season tickets off someone. But enough of this hockey talk, back to basketball!

If I knew we were going to have a crap team for the next two years to get more money why did we not just keep Isaish. Now by that time the Knicks will be at such a low level you think D'antoni will put up with it. I guess by 2010 we will see if we still have him, decent team, and then a big name player.
As for right now go to each game and close your eyes and hope.
All I want is the playoffs. Is that too much to ask. Don't care if its big names or small names. Show some progress and everyone job is done.
At the beginning of the season we had the jet, giants, rangers and the KNICKS playing well. This sec the Knicks are falling off the list quickly(for their future because thats what its all about)
PS. Happy for the wizards Ed Tapscott. 1st win makes you and your team feel good with a sense of direction.

Pistons to fine Iverson after guard misses practice Thursday
Pistons to fine Iverson after guard misses practice Thursday
Iverson Misses Practice, Will Not Start Friday
Detroit Pistons guard Allen Iverson missed practice Thursday and will be levied a "hefty" fine, coach Michael Curry said.
"I'm surprised when guys are late; I'm surprised when they don't show," Curry said, according to the Detroit Free Press. "It's a pretty hefty fine to be late, or to miss, and once again, it's accountability for yourself and your teammates."
Rodney Stuckey, who scored 13 points and added a career-high 11 assists for his first career double-double Wednesday in a 110-96 victory over New York, will start in Iverson's place Friday against the Milwaukee Bucks in Auburn Hills, Mich.
Curry said he hadn't decided whether Iverson would play.
Iverson, who was traded from the Denver Nuggets nearly a month ago, is averaging 18.5 points and 5.4 assists in 10 games with the Pistons this season.
He talked Saturday about the importance of finding chemistry with a new team through practice.
"I've been through it before," Iverson said. "I think the toughest part of it has been our schedule. We've been on the road a lot. That was tough. For me, it's just getting a chance to settle in.
"The most important thing is getting more practice time."
Iverson is no stranger to controversy stemming from practice issues.
In April 2002, he missed practice prior to Game 2 of the Philadelphia 76ers' first-round playoff series against the Boston Celtics, a month before his famous rant at coach Larry Brown's criticism for missing team practices.
Nearly two years later, he was benched for the start of a 76ers game against the Nuggets by coach Chris Ford and fined an undisclosed amount after not making it to Denver for practice.
Then in November 2006, Iverson reportedly stormed out of the practice gym after a conflict with coach Maurice Cheeks. The 76ers traded him to the Nuggets the next month.
Information from ESPN research was used in this report.

I guess when you are famous and talented you have two choices in life.
1. lead
2. not lead
you can tell which on he is and the media is just doing their job and writing their articles.
Sad thing is now because he missed his "PRACTICE" he won't be playing in his "GAME". He so delicately puts it in the interview how a practice is irrelvant so to the people who pay him due for his talent can take that away from him instantly.

I know they always say the West has the better teams, and at the top they typically do...
But man, SIX teams below .300 in the West, only ONE below .300 in the East!

rockets what? you gotta fill it in like
-say that after Mcgrady and company get the first round monkey off their backs!(They got aldeman so 2nd time is a charm)
My daily notes:
-Celtics at 17 going for the rockets 22
-Just plain better than last year(Nuggets, Balzers, Atlanta)
-Stick out player: Zach Randoph(clippers)
Last 5 games pts/rebs: 21/12,38/11,30/13,22/13,30/8 Reminds me of Dwight Howard in the west but on a sucky team which is climbing back out of dead-line aka wizards(Good ol gilbert is quite happy about getting that draft pick ya here )
-great NBA practice team(Memphis: full of decent rookies. Maybe in a few years if these players stay and flourish they might be the team to beat.
PS. Knicks are digging a grave atm but nothing is final until the 8th team is chosen.

I still don't see the East as being that deep. There may be some bad teams in the West, but everyone is so average in the East (other than the Celtics and the Cavs, who I'm still not convinced can keep this pace).
The Magic are looking better, and the Raptors have a lot of promise, but c'mon, the Nets and the Pistons are #2 in their divisions, and they're horrifically average clubs. The Wizards, Bucks, and Pacers are about as bad as anybody in the West, and as of right now the disappointing Bulls get in the playoffs at 13-14.
I'll take the West any day, where Phoenix, Utah, and Dallas are sitting on the bottom of the playoff picture.
In terms of vastly improved teams, the Heat are much better, but the Trailblazers are built for the future. Roy is a darkhorse candidate for player of the year in the West thusfar.
