lol, yeah me too. Must be a non-melbourne thing! I hardly see any apart from daddy long-legs, which are far from scary and very occasionally a huntsmen. Everyone's making it out as if these spiders are everywhere

But in saying that daddy long-legs eat other spiders, so if they're around I guess other spiders are around too =/

I always heard that Daddy-Long-Legs spiders were quite venomous, but have tiny teeth/injectors/whateverthefuckthey'recalled so they aren't an issue for humans? As in, they can't breach our skin?
Urban myth?

Ricky Gervais said so in his standup show "Animals".

I've heard that statistic too, many times. Only thing is, statistics like this are bullshit. Some idiot makes it up and then it becomes "fact". How could this possibly be measured? Has a scientist monitored 100 people for every night's sleep they have had throughout their whole life and tabulated the results? No.

we get heaps of daddy long legs in my place, some huntsmen too. sometimes when you try to catch one you miss and take out a leg or two but the spider keeps going hehe. seen a couple of red tails while gardening but im usually pretty careful, never really been in a position to get bitten. i sometimes worry about it though hehe
