I hate wet deodorants, only use dry. Wet ones are cold, icky to apply, and later on they melt and armpits feel slimy. Used to buy Right Guard, now Axe. Pretty much the same. Dry deodorants leave crumbles under the pits though.
Are you really saying there's stuff out there to stop the wetness? Is that even healthy? I never gave much thought to it.
Also, I kind of wish to stop using aluminum-based deodorants - they visibly discolor my skin and give me irritation. The 'all-natural' one I tried from Whole Foods (Tom's or something) did not, but it also worked like crap (for half a day in pretty mild conditions) - would not wear it to the gym. |
I agree with all of your complaints. From what I've seen, all of the deodorants that stop wetness are the ones that contain aluminum, which are the same ones that discolor and ruin your clothes. I have never tried these "prescription strength" ones that bas and others have mentioned though.
Rock salt I believe is the best I've used in terms of ridding odors, and it leaves virtually nothing on your skin after applying (unlike others where it feels like you have a layer of junk on) and lasts well over 24 hours.
I'm sure deodorants' effectiveness probably depends on the user's skin. So maybe it works great for me, but not for others. Much like how colognes and perfumes smell better/worse on different people with different skin.
