Drunk Interesting Thread

The strange thing with me is that I always listened to trancey music even though they weren't exactly called trance, like:

Goldie - Inner City Life
Faithless - Salva Mea
Orbital - Halcyon + on + On
S&D - Northern Exposure 2: Westcoast Edition (even has Van Buuren on it)

but the one that really got me hooked was:

Chicane - Offshore

The threshold thing: the truly great ones (like Awex "It's our Future" or Café Del Mar) can be heard from now on till doomsday without getting boring in the slightest bit, whereas the unimpressive ones barely can be heard once.

I'm with ya brother!!!
It was 2Unlimited for me - must be the age group. When I think back on it, it is a bit cheesy - "no limits".
Other big ones that stand out for me are Prodigy's Charlie and a whole bucketful of Carl Cox mixes - he was the first DJ that got to me.
Plus there was one other, but I can't remember the name of it, but this has got me thinking - "Ex-ta-cie, Ex-ta-non!" Whole load of Spanish/Portugeuse (or something - anyone know what I'm on about?)

Shame / Disagreement

..and before i get totally slated, i know these weren't entirely trance - carl cox was far from it! More House, heck I was even into Acid House when it had its day, but I don't think trance will ever be beaten, not even by S Club 7...

Hello!

welp i believe that track that made me a "tranceaddict" was well not really a track....it was the CD SEVEN WAYS by PVD. The CD is so amazingly great. And Libra Presents taylor --Anomoly--calling ur name....the song is very beautiful

I've always listened to electronic music but never really got that involved until I heard DJ Kim - Jetlag (Alpha Zone Remix)
ahhh man that song was good.

Well, I think I was evolutionating to trance with many songs.
Some of them:
Sash! - Ecuador
Koala - Australia
Ruff Driverz - Dreaming
Milk Inc - In my eyes
Cappella - Power of love
ATB - 9PM
Veracocha - Carte Blanche
DJ Jean - The Launch
A.I.D.A. - Far & Away
Vengaboys - Kiss (Airscape mix)
The Messiah's - Great trip
Atlantis - Fiji
Kay Cee - Millenium Strings
Mauro Picotto - Komodo
Svenson & Gielen - The Beauty of silence
Southside Spinners - Luvstruck
Mythos & DJ Cosmos - Hymn
CJ Stone - Infinity
....
I think the evolution arrived definitely to trance with DJ Tiesto - Urban Train and System F - Exhale
Also there was a radio show called Tendance (about Trance) that influenced much in that evolution.
That radio show finished 1,5 years ago, and now we haven't any trance radio show (in FM)

I don't know if you can consider it "trance" but... Underworld - Born Slippy was one of the songs that got me into trance. The breakdown definitely has elements of trance in it. It's a pure classic now...
