I find that it's good warmup music. It's good for about an hour, but like anything else, it gets boring. Transitioning into melodic trance is good.

It's probably my fault that discussion on this thread has been lacking: I sort of posted an excited rant after coming home from a great party without really posing a question or an interesting comment to be expanded upon. I just wanted to convey that Trance (the song I posted was more Progressive, but the party did feature a lot of genuine Trance) can still be (1) heard on the dance floor, (2) be successful in getting people moving--and creating the sensation of euphoria/goosebumps that we have all felt--even among a more mainstream crowd, and (3) considered not to be "dead" because of these facts.

I would argue that there is quite a large audience out there who would get into Trance if it received more opportunities to work its magic on a crowd. Instead I feel the modern club scene has been trending towards more cheep thrills House rather than clubs/DJs taking a risk on making an artistic statement that people can remember.

Well put.

I'd add this track up there with "Fusing Love." A little more trancy and less proggy, but it gets me everytime, especially around the 3:13 mark. It was Tom Cloud's first release but I don't think he's matched it since.

absolute rubbish and so pretentious... associating the word "house" with "cheep thrills" is not only derogatory to the genre that pretty much started it all, also grammatically incorrect

Maybe trance would experience a rebirth if better quality ecstasy started to circulate again?

Anyway fuck this shit i love trance and still listens to good ole trance comps and mixes now and then, mostly 90's and some newer A&B comps.

There too many minimal house fucktards devastating this forum giving measly comments and make fun of threadstarters starting threads with trance as subject.

Don't insult them, i think they prefer the term "circle jerk" and they actually know some good music (not incredible but good).

And besides, it is probable that tommorow They will bash the same music they are praising today (can someone find me a Deadmau5-OMG!!1 thread from 2006 please )

You don't have to be a "minimal house fucktard" to criticize the generic plastic schmaltz-trance that gets produced these days. I'm certainly not a huge fan of minimal techno / house.
